President's Message
The first half of 2024 has been busy for Ironbridge Charity Group. Our volunteers have contributed over 400 more hours of their time to help various organizations in the Perkiomen Valley. We have continued to make financial contributions to those organizations and individuals in need and have added two new beneficiaries so far this year, bringing our total to fourteen.
In June, we held our second annual pickleball tournament. It was a perfect day with 26 teams competing at all levels. All money raised continues to be donated to organizations and individuals in need throughout the community. We are so grateful to all of our volunteers, sponsors and participants that made the day so successful.
Our 4th Annual Golf Outing will be held on Friday, September 20th, at Lederach Golf Club. It is a scramble format with a shotgun start at 1:00pm. All money raised will go to support the Daily Bread Community Food Pantry and the So Much to Give Inclusive Cafe. These two great organizations do so much to support those with food insecurity in the Perkiomen Valley Community and those with disabilities. Please join us as a sponsor, player or for dinner after golf. All information regarding the outing can be found HERE.
Unfortunately, as we continue in our mission of providing support to those in need throughout our community, we are seeing the demand growing. More families are visiting the Food Pantry because of the rising costs of groceries. Over 175 students are signed up to receive supplemental food packages from PV Power Packs over the summer, up from just 50 two years ago. With increased rental costs, more families are being evicted from their homes because they cannot afford the higher payments.
If you would like to help us in our efforts, please visit our website to learn how you can volunteer or make a monetary donation. The Board of Ironbridge Charity Group pays all expenses that we incur, so know that all donations go directly into our community. Please also consider reaching out to some of the great organizations providing services to see how you can help.
Thanks again to all of our volunteers and sponsors for making our events successful. We hope to see a lot of you at our golf outing in September. In the meantime, have a great rest of your summer.
Sincerely,
Tom
